Masters in Design

Admission Requirements

Applicants meeting the entry qualification and eligibility requirements can apply with/without a valid CEED scorecard.

  1. Eligible candidates apply for the program as per entry qualification and eligibility.
  2. Candidates are shortlisted for Design Aptitude Test (DAT) and personal interview based on CEED score or Portfolio (for those who don't have a valid CEED scorecard).
  3. Shortlisted candidates are called for DAT and personal interview in the SNU campus.
  4. Merit list is prepared based on performance in DAT, personal interview, and portfolio review.
  5. Selected candidates are offered admission into the program. If any selected candidate declines the offer, waiting list candidates are offered their seat.

A candidate applying for the Master of Design program should fulfil any one of the following minimum entry qualification and eligibility criteria:   

  1. Candidate should have completed an undergraduate degree of minimum 4 years (after 10+2 level) in any discipline, from a recognized university or institution at the time of admission with a minimum of 55% or equivalent.
  2. Candidate should have completed an undergraduate degree of minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level) in any discipline, from a recognized university or institution with a minimum of 55% or equivalent along with at least one-year post-undergraduate degree work experience.
  3. Candidate should have completed a master’s degree of minimum 2 years (after 10+2+3 level) in any discipline, from a recognized university or institution at the time of admission with a minimum of 55% or equivalent.

Application Process

Applicants meeting the entry qualification and eligibility criteria apply through the admission portal of SNU. Completed applications are shortlisted for Design Aptitude Test (DAT), personal interview and portfolio review based on the following criteria.

  • Candidates with a valid CEED scorecard will be shortlisted based on cut-off percentile which will be decided by the University admission team based on the number of application received.
  • Candidates without a valid CEED scorecard will be shortlisted based on the relevance of work experience and their creative work demonstrated through a portfolio.

Based on the performance in DAT, personal interview, and portfolio review a merit list will be prepared, and 20 selected candidates will be offered admission into the program. 

N.B. A candidate may note that the University reserves the right to accept or reject any application based on its departmental screening criteria; hence all applications received may not be shortlisted for DAT and interview. No requests for refund of the application fee shall be entertained whether or not the candidates are called for DAT and interview.
